I’m a Responsible Netizen

Nowadays, too young and even too old people know hot use the internet, because it is very useful to everyone. Usually, everyone used it for many purposes just like enjoying and playing online games which the teenagers are addicted and wasting their moneys without significance. Some used internet to find friends, for online businesses to earn money and communicate to their loved ones in abroad or in far places. Others used it to post their compositions they wanted to share with and they want to express the things happening in our world. And in fact, student like me used internet not just to have fun but to learn more, to research and to do assignments, projects and reports needed on studies.
When I think of citizenship on the web, it is not in the conventional "national citizen" sense. Rather, citizenship takes on a broader, and perhaps equally important, meaning: internet citizens ("netizens" as Michael Hauben dubbed us) are people who have a stake in the evolving content and character of the web. In this sense, internet users are citizens in a world of ideas, participants in an ongoing knowledge and value (in the "societal values" sense) creation experiment. Although language, technology access and literacy, and censorship still represent barriers for some, the conversation is increasingly global.

An Internet user is the one who is trying to contribute to the Internet's use and growth. As a powerful communications medium, the Internet seems to offer great possibilities for social change. It also creates a new culture and its own special issues, such as who shall have access to it. The implication is that the Internet's users, who use and know most about it, have a responsibility to ensure that is used constructively while also fostering free speech and open access. A netizen or cybercitizen is a person actively involved in online communities.
I know in myself that I am not really addicted and abused the importance of the internet. Although, sometimes I loved to open my friendster and now, my facebook account during my spare time after I finished and complete what I am researching to have fun. Simultaneously, people should be doubtful because during they would rent PC’s on computer shops, they would spent fifteen to twenty pesos per hour for unworth things than liking a craving of a significance and save money.
Internet provides people to learn more and be updated on the improvement of our technology. These could help because it does not choose the age of the user to use him although some websites have their qualifying age to sign in or to visit.

As an internet users though we were and very interested and fond to use the internet we should have our own obligations meaning when the time came in that we need  to use the  internet. Obligation meaning responsibilities to do for behaving in proper online or simply netiquette. This is needed to minimize our mistakes and to make and have   friends. Recently, I’d used the internet to search about how to be a responsible netizen and base from it, each of us should follow and obey the five basic rules including:
1.      “Remember the human”. Be yourself even if only the computer screen is front of you. Remember that you might offend people without meaning to.

2.       “Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life”. Standards of behavior in some areas are different however they are not lower than in real life.

3.       “Know where you are in cyberspace”. You must the areas to avoid waste of time that takes a look around.

4.      “Respect other people's time and band with”. Avoid spending too much time sitting at the computer.

5.      “Make you good online. Don’t use languages that can be offend someone. Pay attention to the content of your writing. Be sure you know what you're talking about when you see yourself writing.

I know that there’s no such bad things that everyone is being fond in using the internet to develop their better personalities, talents and skills but too much using of it may affect our everyday life that may bring us to addiction. Enjoying and using it on efficient ways without reading and watching pornography and citing  nude photos  would  lead us to be a responsible netizen.
